When I was younger, Herm gave some Mettwurst (summer sausage) to my dad - Eldor Wesche. I loved the taste. Years later, I stayed at a youth hostel in Wolfensbuettel, Germany. Guess what they served for breakfast - Herm's Mettwurst (or at least it tasted just like the Bischoff recipe. Even more years later I bought some sausage at a German butchery in Madang, Papua New Guinea. You guessed it, Herm's Mettwurst. I have been trying to find the fabeled sausage for some years now. This summer I worshipped at St. John Lutheran - Freedom Twp. I spoke with Herm's cousin who told me that the sausage store was still open and that I might find the Mettwurst there. Today I found the website. I think I will gather a party and come to make sausage. God bless!
